Recent county news
  1. Surrey FA is delighted to announce that Referee Craig Hicks has received his promotion from a Level 2A to a Level 1 Referee, meaning that for the 2017/18 season he will be officiating in the English Football League, Leagues 1 and 2.
  2. Surrey County FA are pleased to announce they have 8 County mentors appointed to them from the FA, who are each able to deliver 50 hours of mentoring to selected Charter Standard Clubs. (NB – priority will be given to Charter Standard Development or Community Clubs).
  3. The Surrey Football Coaches Association is proud to confirm an all-day event on Sunday 25th June in conjunction with The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and Fulham Football Club.
  4. In the Easter holidays this year, Surrey FA ran two Young Leaders events the Young Leader’s Camp for 12 – 16 year olds and the Young Leaders Development Day, for 16 – 24 year olds.
  5. The Community Shield Fund was awarded to two grassroots clubs again this year in Surrey, with Metropolitan Police Youth FC and Hambledon the duo who received £2500 each. We caught up with the Metropolitan Police Youth Club Secretary, Lisa Ness, to talk about the club’s work in the community, and how it plans to develop.
