We welcome Beaconsfield Town (previously SYCOB) on Saturday and the first thing to note is that they have yet to lose an away match in the League this season.  Indeed if their home record was anything similar, they would be right at the top of the table.  As it is, they will arrive at Short Lane in 3rd place in the table so it will be a tough match.

If he is playing, we will see the return of Kofi Lockhart-Adams today in Beaconsfield colours.  Kofi’s name, of course, is permanently sealed in Ashford’s history following his arrival on the field at half-time in the Middlesex Charity Cup Final against Northwood a few seasons back, when he proceeded to score four goals after we had been three down at the break.  Another player in their ranks is Michael Peacock who was with us for a while on loan, although some time ago now.

Last season honours were even between us.  At home, on the same Saturday as this season, a goal from Kam English was not enough to rescue us from a 1-2 defeat but away, in March 2017, we came out on top by two goals to nil, both from Mark Bitmead.

We have another home match on Tuesday, against Aylesbury United and there is a special offer on the table.  If you have paid £9 to come in against Beaconsfield, make sure you collect a voucher to enable you to pay just £5 on Tuesday.  For OAP’s who have only paid a fiver today, you also need a voucher as the entrance on Tuesday will be just £1, whilst season ticket holders will receive a free hot dog or burger on Tuesday if they collect a voucher today.

We are a little bit late this year but Christmas Draw tickets will be available from tomorrow, priced at just £1 per book.  Also players and committee personnel should please collect your allocation this afternoon.
