Following Tuesday’s successful jaunt in the Middlesex Senior Cup, it’s back to the League on Saturday for the Tangerines as they visit newly promoted Thame United, in the first meeting between the clubs since 25 February 2006, when Ashford managed to win 5-0 during their first promotion season in the Southern League.  Scorers that day were Gavin Smith (2) (who has just taken over as joing manager with Jon Palmer at Godalming Town), Jason Chewins and Anthony Joseph.

Since then Thames have moved to a new purpose built ground and have done well in their first season back at Step 4, currently sitting in 12th place in the table.  They lost 2-4 at Cambridge City last week in the League but, like ourselves, were successful in the FA trophy, with a 1-0 win away at Mangotsfield Town.

The address of the ground is Meadow View Park Tythrop Way Thame Oxon OX9 3RN and kick-off as usual is at 3.00 p.m.  It is a journey of around 43 miles each way.

If anyone needs a lift, Barry Smith is leaving the club at 1.30 p.m. and has room for passengers.  Contact him on 07759 043211 if interested.
