It is worrying when matches are still being postponed in March but sadly it continues to happen in the CCL and Ashford were the latest victims on Saturday when their scheduled match away to Redhill was called off, to become the only Premier Division game to suffer that fate, this in a week when there had been very little rain.

The state of the pitches at some CCL grounds must be cause for concern by the League.  It certainly penalises clubs such as Camberley, Windsor, ourselves and others who rarely see a home match called off but then find themselves having to play a disproportionate number of games away in midweek.  This particular match, at Redhill, will almost certainly have to be re-arranged for a Thursday evening, as the League web site suggests our opponents have already run out of spare Tuesdays.

However, there is no choice but to move on and on Tuesday evening the Tangerines go to Raynes Park Vale in another re-arranged match.  They played at home on Saturday and with virtually no rain in the forecast before Tuesday the match will hopefully go ahead.  The match kicks off at 7.45 p.m. and the address of the ground is Prince George Playing Fields, Grand Drive, Raynes Park, SW20 9NB.   Parking is available at the end of the long drive leading up to the ground but it is limited.

Last season Ashford gave one of their poorest performances at Raynes Park Vale, deservedly losing 1-3 with only a Jack Beadle penalty to show for their efforts, and even that was a fortunate award.  Ashford will be well aware that their opponents are difficult to beat on their own ground but will doubtless be well prepared by manager Murray and hopefully at full strength.  Kick-off is 7.45 p.m.
