The club are pleased to announce the signing of Perry Luckins from neighbours Spelthorne Sports, the 22 year old midfielder trained with the group on Saturday.  He is not cup tied and will go into the match day squad for our trip to Epsom & Ewell in the League Cup on Tuesday.

Perry will be well known to supporters as he returns back to the club after a stint at Spelthorne, he had previously been part of our successful youth setup at the club and becomes the 13th current first team player to have come through the ranks and played in our youth team. He is a talented and creative player who will be a great addition to an already strong squad.

Manager Ben Murray said “I am very happy to have Perry back with me at Ashford, it was an opportunity that became available and I am extremely pleased that he has committed to Ashford again. He knows the majority of the group and has already integrated well with the team in the training that we have had this weekend.”

Murray has also hinted that he aims to have another forward added to the squad by the weekend, “we have put in a couple of offers in and hope to have one signed by the weekend, we have great depth in the squad again now, which is vital for competition. We have lost Scott Elgar and Joey Robson to injury and they look to be long term and we wish them well on their recovery. Therefore it’s important to add a few in and we are actively doing that. We are near on full fitness now within the group and we had a couple of fantastic training sessions on the 3G on Saturday with all players putting a shift in. ”
