Ashford Entertained Slough Town today. We found ourselves three goals down in a crazy Eight minute period, if I am honest the goals where of no quality at all the lads simply switched off from the start. Ashford have defended very well over the last 6-7 weeks against strikers/midfielders who are of different quality to those of Slough and I am sure they will all look at themselves and evaluate their performance and learn from it. Speaking to a couple of the lads after the game it was obvious that we just never turned up today, questions will be raised as to why and I am 100% sure this will be discussed at Training and put to bed before we visit NGU which has now become even more crucial. At 3-0 down Ashford looked to find a way back into the game but never really troubled the visitors. The second half started well and Ashford looked in the mood and took the game to Slough but it was the final third of the pitch where they fell short. Hopefully a performance on Saturday at NGU makes up for the poor display here today. No midweek game this week so maybe the rest is what the boys need as the last six weeks has been very challenging mentally and physically. Late in the game a shoulder Injury to Elliot Jones has cause for concern as Elliot has been exceptional of late we wish him well and hopefully he’s available for NGU.
